A Bridge Too Far..

 

Well dear readers!

I have good news to share …

my work,

A Bridge Too Far

From my Ripped and Torn series

Has been chosen to grace the cover of a book

Printed by a French company that

Specializes in Psychology books

I am so honored that A Bridge Too Far was chosen for this as it is a perfect match for my work..

My Ripped and Torn series is a

deeply layered emotional series…

The company tried  to mail me three copies but ran into

Trump’s tariffs and it was too expensive 

As well as a ridiculous policy .. 

so a colleague was

going to New York and mailed them to me from there

I am most appreciative!

And thankful

To Sophie Leo and Véronique Sidoit for choosing my 

Work.

We are home from our trip

and back at work..

Red Stitches... and Excavation News!

Happy Holidays dearhearts..

we had a splendid thanksgiving..

peaceful and quiet...

we did get some snow.. just a dusting...

but some precipitation at least and we hope for more this week..

we will take all the dustings we can get!!

In between wrapping, shopping writing thank

you's to collectors and baking..

I have found a bit of time for 

some stitching..

mostly Red, black and white..

and they are not decorative,

but mostly anchoring stitches..

I have been very gentle with this piece,

as there is a very old piece of paper at the 

center and I want it to lay flat and

not be disturbed..

I am excited about the possibilities of

this piece..

I am also thinking of starting a few new pieces in my 

Excavation 

series..

if you remember..

it was from Ripped and Torn..

Ive been thinking of some new ideas and perhaps mixing 

different elements..

Whew its hot here.. global warming is really hitting us hard..

it used to be we would have a couple of days in August 

at 90 to 100..

but now it is already that hot..

I hope it is cooler where you are!1

but I digress...

I have been working in between my garden chores.. to be ready for 

my annual 

Studio Sale..

it will be on line and here in the Studio for locals..

I have been rooting through my stash of works..

and I will have several pieces to offer

Well gentle readers..

my Persephone painting

 is giving me fits..

literally..

I am probably too invested in what she is 

The little grunge book.. detail

supposed to look like 

and what her appearance and countenance

tells us all...

the works in my Goddess collection

are 

Symbolist Art

and those symbols tell the stories 

for anyone with the eyes to see...

 

But I love it when paintings just come together

and I don't feel as though I am wresting angels..

sadly though..

right now its a struggle..

I am hoping to finish both this little book

and my darling Rose book

very soon..

and get them into the 

art book gallerie...

Little Grunge Book

 

Ciao my gentle readers..

it's been sunny but windy and sooo dry..

we had a small fire just south of us yesterday.

but the threat is ever present..

So I have been in the studio painting and when the painting is not coming together..

I stitch and do mixed media..

I love the layers and textures of 

my little book..

the book has been speaking to me of course and it seems to recall

memories..

that which we have had..

the places we have been...

and places we may go

right now, I have two paintings and two books in the 

progress state..

but it is gardening time and that takes time in the morning 

we have so much that needs to be cut back for the new growth..

I will have some photos of my spring flowers soon..

She is a mixed media artt book

she is filled with fabric and paper pieces

transfers and slow stitching..

 

her vibe is a focus on seeing clearly..

and the miracle of sight..

But that is just my take on her.. yours is the important 

view point..

Milagro-WIP

My sweet Milagro book

is still a work in progress 

gentle readers..

But I expect it to be finished shortly...

I love the little hidden covers..

like the cloth cover below..

 

and this tiny flap in the photos below..

now what is hidden is what I have to be told..

I know the book is about 

Sacred Sight

and miracles of seeing things clearly..

So I am sure the perfect thing will make itself known to me..

Yes. it will be listed in my gallerie soon..

and yes, I have interest in it already..

Staying focused on what I can control 

and not on what I can't

is how I am continuing to create

and tiny stitches always help..

The Goddess Series

 

If you have been following me 

for a few years..

maybe 17 perhaps..

you might remember

this image,

gentle reader..

I made several collages of Goddesses 

with the intention of creating a Goddess deck..

and that never came to fruition...

but I love the images and I have decided...

in this fresh new year 

to make

large Goddess

Paintings...

This first one is an image that I painted several years ago..

but I do not know what became of it...

It doesn't really matter.. what matters is that she is the first of a long

line of mythological female heroines that I want to create

we need to be reminded of our love..

our 

Strength and beauty..

this is just a work in progress... even her face is not finished

but I am in love with this idea and and working on it daily..

it's a New Year 

with so many possibilities 

and I am delighting in it..
