A Bridge Too Far..

Well dear readers!

I have good news to share …

my work,

A Bridge Too Far

From my Ripped and Torn series

Has been chosen to grace the cover of a book
Printed by a French company that
Specializes in Psychology books

I am so honored that A Bridge Too Far was chosen for this as it is a perfect match for my work..
My Ripped and Torn series is a
deeply layered emotional series…

The company tried  to mail me three copies but ran into
Trump’s tariffs and it was too expensive
As well as a ridiculous policy ..
so a colleague was
going to New York and mailed them to me from there
I am most appreciative!
And thankful
To Sophie Leo and Véronique Sidoit for choosing my
Work.

We are home from our trip
and back at work..
As always many thanks for stopping by
The Lily cottage

Ciao, Ciao!

Through The Tear We Rise

Ciao!

Gentle readers!

I have finished a new piece in the Ripped and Torn series

It’s concerning freedom…

And our inalienable rights given to us
Through our constitution..

We are at a point where we must all stand for
Our freedom…

To see this piece, and the two other pieces

In this Series

Mixed Media Art Journal Pages

Ciao, dear readers..
I am slowly getting back into the studio and creating again..
I started my May Art Journal Pages

before I left for my
EXCAVATIONS show..

I am still obsessed with paper manipulation ideas..

and while I intend to begin
doing some painting..
it was nice to play and construct and deconstruct paper..

this is undoubtedly my favorite monochromatic
scheme..

I love playing in it, the simplification seems to be it's own
great story..

Ingredients: Mono prints, antique book pages, paper, acrylic ink, colored pencil, pencil, adhesive.

We are working on a new YouTube video for this week
on organic dyes..

and I am finishing up work
on my ephemera packs..

and yes I will be painting soon..
and looking forward to some lazy days
poolside..

Thanks always for stopping by,
I so appreciate your kind attention..

EXCAVATIONS Show and Book Cover Class

Ciao, my dear ones..
I have softly landed and am taking a little time
to get back in the creative flow..

Holding a one woman show and class means
that I was working
at capacity and I am used to
far more quiet time..

but...
 it was
Fabulous!
and I was so happy to see everyone...
and my students were so dear and wonderful!!

This little video will give you an idea of what the gallerie space is like,
and where my art work lives..
here is the link
for the gallerie site

Meg and I agreed that I must go back to teach
another class and I will be
teaching in  2020 at Way Art Yonder..

so excited about that...

so enjoy this little taste..
it was a yummy weekend...

and as always...
I am eternally grateful to you..

Practice, Practice, Practice..

well dear readers,
I have been working on my new show...

Excavations

from my Ripped and Torn series..

and I have 5 small pieces to share with you..
although they are not going into the show..

they were just for
Practice..

I once had a teacher that used to shout, "Practice, Practice, Practice..
as we were leaving the studio..

So I have made several small pieces as rough drafts..
to see how this new series will behave...

sometimes mixed media needs time to sit .. to rest
and techniques need time to develop...

no matter how long I work with a media
I am always learning new things..
paper teaches me so much..

It seems to me that as we develop and grow as artists we find
new ways to use the same old materials..

Excavations is an attempt to rip through the layers
and sort out the truths..
the center always reveals what has been hiding there all along..
As I rip and tear, and focus, the dimension of the
relationship comes clearly into focus..
and I am always reminded
that harmony and congruence
is born from chaos..
