Ciao, my dear ones..
I have softly landed and am taking a little time
to get back in the creative flow..

Holding a one woman show and class means
that I was working
at capacity and I am used to
far more quiet time..

but...
 it was
Fabulous!
and I was so happy to see everyone...
and my students were so dear and wonderful!!

This little video will give you an idea of what the gallerie space is like,
and where my art work lives..
here is the link
for the gallerie site

Meg and I agreed that I must go back to teach
another class and I will be
teaching in  2020 at Way Art Yonder..

so excited about that...

so enjoy this little taste..
it was a yummy weekend...

and as always...
I am eternally grateful to you..

the floral drawings are
all hand sketched with pen and ink

Antique Paper Collage & 142 Bis Gallerie

the best pieces
from my new collection...

What Lies Beneath
are
slowly being framed
and ready for shipment to..

the simplicity of this series
underlines the power of what is revealed below..

all of it
lies in interpretation of course..
mine
and then yours...

I am currently working on my artist statement
for this show
which
coincides with
EsScentuals
25th anniversary celebration...

it is hard to believe that it has been 25 years...
but it is certainly a milestone for celebration...

and it is fitting to show pieces with such reverence for age
for this anniversary...

New pieces framed in grey wood frames..

and

I am also very pleased to announce

That
142
Bis
Gallerie
will be my exclusive
representation...

It is rare when someone not only
loves
your work,
but tirelessly supports what you do..

and for that
I am most grateful..

so, gentle reader, I am closing
my online gallery
and all sales will be handled through
142
Bis
Gallerie

at
EsScentuals

Current work will be found
on the page at the top of my blog

this change will give me time to work on new series and try
out new things..

without having to manage my own shop..

Art work wrapped for shipment at 142 Bis Gallerie

as a recent collector wrote
 after purchasing my work
thru the gallerie...

"I've never (no, not ever)
seen such love and respect shown a piece of art"

What a perfect fit..

ciao, ciao...

Les Jardin Des Amants and more Italian collage

dearhearts...
it all started innocently enough
with these
four collages...

The Jardin Collages...

as I was ripping up an old book on botany..
I had the idea of a garden of lovers...
meeting among the gardens filled with flowers...

and as I leafed through my French papers
I found an article on gardening in
an old newspaper...

Les Fleurs, 8 x 8 collage,  French Paper Series

Jardin 8 x 8  collage, French Paper Series

Rustica, 8 x 8 collage, French Paper Series

No. 31, collage, French Paper Series

and they were so beautifully photographed in
the Somerset Studio article...

Sept/Oct.

after I created the
Jardin collages, I thought that the floral images
would be beautiful
layered in

Italian collage mounted on Khadi papers

Floating, 8 x 8 Italian Collage

Vintage Fleur,  8 x 8 Italian Collage

Mosaic Jardin, 8 x 8 Italian collage

and then of course I had to make
 minis

from top to bottom... Un Jardin, Petite Fleur, Rouge, Purple Butterfly 6 x 6

so you can see why I had to split this post up to show
you all the pieces...

and if you missed the first part of my show
just scroll down to the last post...

alas... I won't be able to make this show

Oct. 25 and 26
in Fort Collins
at
the Nostalgia Antiques Sale
and
immediately following the show..

but I am hoping to do another show next year and attend..

as always, I so appreciate your kind readership...
and faithful support...

I will be back shortly with
October pages..
and some peeks of
my latest Sew project...

Italian collage and the garden of lovers

ciao amici..

since I created so many pieces
for the Portfolio article
in
Somerset Studio
I thought I would break them into two
blog posts
one featuring cradled boards
and the next one sharing the
 Khadi papers

Strolling Paris. ... 8 x 8 Italian collage.. this is the largest piece of Italian collage which is actually two pieces of collage worked together to form a large collage piece. You can see the split down the center where the two pieces match up...

the name of the show is

Les Jardin Des Amants

 the garden of lovers
this collection began with an idea I had of a secret garden where lovers met...
and I thought is would be interesting to create the feeling of
those trysts
on board and papers..
what they saw

close up of Strolling Paris

and how they felt...
as usual, I concentrated on the relationships using text as conversations, this time painting out the text
to express whispers..

Portfolio article in Somerset Studio, Sept./Oct. issue

and rough edges and layers
communicate the changes in the relationships and
the complexities
of love...

Le Petite Illustration, 8 x 8 cradled board, Italian collage. The center focal piece is actually three pieces of Italian collage...

the longing...

close up of Le Petite Illustration, Italian collage

the waiting..

the article also featured my mini Italian collages...

and the sheer joy of being reunited...

Tulipes, 6 x 6 Italian collage

what is seen... what is oblivious...
 a blur..

close up of Tulipes, Italian collage

all of these details...
the mystery and anticipation...

tiny bits and pieces of tissue and book scraps adorn Strolling in Paris above...

I hoped to reveal in these abstract pieces...

one of my favorite pieces, Figure 72, 6 x 6  Italian collage with french book pages and student french lessons..

I am very happy with this collection
in the French Paper Series...
and so pleased with the article...
I am so fortunate and blessed..

you can see the 8 layers above of Italian collage..

to have had this opportunity
and to be represented
by
142 Bis Gallerie...

the show is this Friday and Saturday
Oct. 25 and 26
as alway, Meg welcomes presales..
we do love red dots..

and signs that read..
sorry sold!

packing up... again

no not the house...
my work...
to send
to my gallery

I just got the pieces back from
for the
Portfolio/ Interview that they did
in the Sept./Oct. issue

and I debated about framing the paper pieces or leaving them
raw and I decided to offer them
frameless this time and see how they are received...

small Italian collage pieces and mosaic in the bottom left corner and above

so I put them all in sleeves and finished them off with washi tape

and the cradled boards were all fitted with hangers
and labeled on the back of the boards

I love the neat stack and piles of work...
all neatly packaged
and bubbled carefully..

we don't usually show off the business side of art...
but it is all part of the job...

and I noticed that I now need new business cards!
because my email addy has changed!
fortunately I was down to the last of them..

the show is
Oct 25 and 26
in Fort Collins

Les Jardins Des Amants

Friday I will be back with
photos of all the work and
details about the show...
