Persephone

Persephone was the daughter of the God Zeus and Goddess Demeter, she was well loved and when she was kidnapped and taken to the underworld, raped and forced to marry, they were heartbroken.
The God of the underworld agreed that she would be released but he tricked Persephone by giving her a Pomegranate to eat.. she ate 6 tiny seeds and it meant that she would spend 6 months in the underworld with him..and 6 months in freedom.
In my painting she is bring back Spring and Summer to us.
