In the Studio.. it's so hot!!

 

Ciao gentle readers!

It's been so wickedly hot here..

we normally have a couple of days in August

that are 90 degrees-ish

but this has been too early..

and too hot..

I still have gardening and walks to do so we are doing those in the early mornings..

In the studio I am working on my large light pink rose painting.. and I will soon have it finished..

But in between..

I am stitching.. working on my new stitch book..

she's nameless now..

but I know she will speak to me sometime soon..

I hope that you live in a place where the temps are cool

and fires are unheard of..

I so enjoy mixing slow stitch and collage..

combing paper and fabric and bits of ribbons..

it is so satisfying to mix so much texture together..

today we are working on pages..

I used handwritten antique papers, tea towels and hand dyed 

fabrics, made from old table cloths and cotton scraps..

 

Next time gentle viewers,

 we will collage the pages

with papers and fabrics..

Until then, have fun dying fabrics and stitching them into your

gorgeous covers..

This journal can easily be adapted to use with a 

sewing machine

or even just using glue for the collaged cover..

 

but the signatures do need to be stitched into the book..
