My sweet Milagro book

is still a work in progress 

gentle readers..

But I expect it to be finished shortly...

I love the little hidden covers..

like the cloth cover below..

 

and this tiny flap in the photos below..

now what is hidden is what I have to be told..

I know the book is about 

Sacred Sight

and miracles of seeing things clearly..

So I am sure the perfect thing will make itself known to me..

Yes. it will be listed in my gallerie soon..

and yes, I have interest in it already..

Staying focused on what I can control 

and not on what I can't

is how I am continuing to create

and tiny stitches always help..

Woking in the Studio..

Ciao my dears!

I am working a bit in the studio..

during this weird in between time..

what day is it? 

I don't know about you, but we always lose track of days about now..

I am working a bit and reading a lot ..

and Don has been finding movies to watch...

it's important to enjoy holiday time..

we are both believers in the 

Slow Movement Culture..

So spending time together and enjoying the time at hand

is important to us...

and I do tend to work ...a lot..

So I have been slowly bringing this little flower book to life..

as well as beginning a new large painting series of 

Goddesses

to life as well..

I had at one time been making collages of Goddesses 

and had planned to make a card deck with them..

but now, I think I would rather begin 

a new series..

so I will have pics soon..

so off to the studio!! 

we shall wait patiently for the 

New Year!

In the Studio.. it's so hot!!

 

Ciao gentle readers!

It's been so wickedly hot here..

we normally have a couple of days in August

that are 90 degrees-ish

but this has been too early..

and too hot..

I still have gardening and walks to do so we are doing those in the early mornings..

In the studio I am working on my large light pink rose painting.. and I will soon have it finished..

But in between..

I am stitching.. working on my new stitch book..

she's nameless now..

but I know she will speak to me sometime soon..

I hope that you live in a place where the temps are cool

and fires are unheard of..

The book is made from antique tablecloths, napkins and laces..

all tea dyed to yumminess..

Psyche

Her name is

Psyche..

and 

I thought it would be quite difficult to create

a book about a creature representing a

Soul...

but actually 

when I saw the below photo of the 

shadow of the photographer...

I thought that the shadow was a perfect

idea of the reflection of the person..

the 

soul..

the pockets always represent the hidden  parts of us

that we often keep quiet..

 and 

then there are the

bits that are the decoration of 

personality...

She will be finished soon

to add to my

Don't you just love a little 

concertina?

This one is simple

and easy to make..

 Just a couple of signatures

stitched into the folds and then

embellish it with 

some slow stitches..

I have loved this little project..

But I love that about it..

Its loose and free..

very organic..

I am packing and still hoping for a house 

in the Fort Collins, CO

So art time is at an all time minimum..

but I have finished these and it seems that I rarely share finished

work with you..

for one thing, I want everyone to do their own work and find their own style

rather than copying my work

this is an important topic..

Today's video is a little slow stitch practice..

I like taking you along as I stitch quite frequently in the studio..

 

often to simply rest my mind and allow what will be.. be.

The bleached fabric is a nice way to manipulate 

the fabric and change it up a little..

you have on hand to make some small textiles..

to explore contrast 

and take a few minutes

to simply breathe...
