Antique Book with Seth Apter Fabrics!

Ciao!!

Well.. I started  another book..

Since I finished the

Morris book..

It was an old Spelling Bee book and I have always

lusted over it for a project..

The cover of my new book

Seth’s Fabrics are so yummy.. the colors coordinate well together and they have that
satisfying tearing sound when they rip!
You can order them
At

Inside hinge

I have cut the book cover apart and have hinged it together with plain black cotton
cloth.. my intention is to stitch a signature into two of those hinges….

I am working on it this week and am shooting my weekly YouTube video..so you

will want to stop by our channel..

And as ALWAYS we are so grateful for your

kind support!

Grazie!!

New Books Coming!!

Ciao gentle readers..

I have had several requests for books..

both tiny and regular sized books…

So I have started making three new books

One is not ready for viewing yet!!

The  tiny book, called Leaflet, is 3 x 3

and the one above is 5 x 6

I’ve opened the books to give you an idea

Of the pages.. the tiny book is all cloth and the

other book is paper and cloth

I’ve tea dyed the pages and I don’t have a theme for the larger book.. but it will tell me what it is shortly..

I will place them in my Textile gallerie as soon as they are

finished.

So we are off on a quick adventure..

and I will try to get back here before we leave

Just a note..

SAVE THE DATE

July 11

Is my annual studio sale, I will take appointments for the day..

But the sale will run the week before and the week after the event.

Textile Art

Ciao dearhearts!

I have just hfinished my two textile pieces that I have been hand stitching 🧵

These textiles are a mirror for the climate today,

for everything that has been going on..

The Beauty That Remains

Is the piece above and

Crossroads

Below…

Both pieces are mixed media and are completely

hand stitched and framed in black wood frames and

glass..

If you are interested in them please go to

Slow Stitching New Work

Ciao my dears!
We’ve had the driest year here
On the Front Range..
We are getting ready to cut things back

And Don has been hand watering trees and

bushes but it’s bad for plants and people and we’ve

had Red Warnings

every time the wind blows..

But .. I am at work in the studio daily..

And stitching slowly..

Slow stitch is such a blessing in our frazzled world

Stitch and stitch out..calms the mind and

Invites Hope.

I decided to work small on this piece and have started
Another small piece as well and you will see that
soon..
Not sure where it is going..
But sure it will tell
Me.

New Works

Ciao dear readers..

we are leaving tomorrow
for our winter trip..

and I have a few pieces that
I have finished to share with you..

This piece below is a drawing that I just finished..
she's determined and proud..

I used prismacolors on her..

and drawing, stitching and gluing
has kept me sane

The Link Between Heaven and Earth

While the rest of the world goes on without us..
and terrible things happen around us...
sometimes it appears too dark..

Into the Night

The Mixed Media piece above is part of my Ripped and Torn collection..
and is listed below

It is about finding hope in the darkest hours..

and we can use that hope..
can't we?

I will be posting on
Social,
 IG, Facebook and Threads
so keep up with me there..

Sending my deepest thanks for your kind attention
to my work..
as always,

Red Stitches... and Excavation News!

Happy Holidays dearhearts..

we had a splendid thanksgiving..

peaceful and quiet...

we did get some snow.. just a dusting...
but some precipitation at least and we hope for more this week..
we will take all the dustings we can get!!

In between wrapping, shopping writing thank
you's to collectors and baking..
I have found a bit of time for
some stitching..

mostly Red, black and white..
and they are not decorative,
but mostly anchoring stitches..

I have been very gentle with this piece,
as there is a very old piece of paper at the
center and I want it to lay flat and
not be disturbed..

I am excited about the possibilities of
this piece..

I am also thinking of starting a few new pieces in my

Excavation

series..

if you remember..

it was from Ripped and Torn..

Ive been thinking of some new ideas and perhaps mixing

different elements..

A piece from my Excavations series

I want to relax and enjoy the Holidays this year..

and hope you feel the same..

but I will find time to work on my new

pieces for my

Ripped and Torn

collection!
