Ciao dear readers..

I have finished to share with you..

This piece below is a drawing that I just finished..
she's determined and proud..

I used prismacolors on her..

and drawing, stitching and gluing
has kept me sane

The Link Between Heaven and Earth

While the rest of the world goes on without us..
and terrible things happen around us...
sometimes it appears too dark..

Into the Night

The Mixed Media piece above is part of my Ripped and Torn collection..
and is listed below

It is about finding hope in the darkest hours..

and we can use that hope..
can't we?

I will be posting on
Social,
 IG, Facebook and Threads
so keep up with me there..

Sending my deepest thanks for your kind attention
to my work..
as always,

Where Light and Shadow Meet

Well dear ones..

I am not working much.. I don't know
about you
but there are so many things to
do around

the
holidays..

and I always think that we should take
advice from the deciduous trees and bushes
and just percolate..
and allow new ideas and concepts
to flow in and saturate
our being.....

Where Light and Shadow Meet

but I have been piecing together my new
work for the next

Excavations
Collection..

and this is the only one closest
to being
finished...

when it is ready I will have photos..
but for now..
this will have to suffice

I am sending my best
Holiday wishes out to you..

there are so many Holidays at this time of year..

so enjoy ..
and take some time for yourself

Where the Woodbine Pines

Ciao dear ones..

This is a piece of art concerning

grief..

it is collage mounted on mixed media paper..

I have used several antique papers  and book pieces
to create an atmosphere of

sorrow being overcome

by the vines of life..

I often have at least one piece in a collection that speaks to

grief and the way to overcome the sorrow..

my garden has always been a therapy

for me to use to salve my broken heart..

the vines entwine and encircle and soulfully

 allow healing to take place...

to view this piece

go to

giglio gallerie

I have so many ideas for new work that I am going to start writing them

down in a studio notebook,

so I remember each one...

Detail from Violets in the Forest

and a Snippet Roll..

and an idea for a new painting..

for the creative..

and I am in the studio

noodling around..

Some projies
are not finished..

like this
little

Flower Journal

I keep evaluating the pages..

ripping and tearing old things I have done

and adding new things..

until I feel happy with the spreads...

and drawing..

Sometimes the only way to capture what you
want to say is to

Just picture it yourself!!

Khadi Paper String Book

My mind works like this..
let's
dye some fabric and papers..

now what is the next step?

slow stitching..

of course..

and then why not put these fabulous pieces in a book..

just moving forward in a natural
progression
process..
building one upon the other..

Be safe dear ones..
and take good care..

Thanks so much for your most kind support..

Mixed Media Collage-EXCAVATIONS

Finally..
 gentle readers...

all the work has reached
the Gallerie and I have it loaded in the shop
for pre sale..

I chose to call
the show EXCAVATIONS because
I noticed
that I had been doing a lot of
collage
in my art journals..
layering the torn pieces,

chewing on relationship
issues and stressful events...

metaphorically digging by
 ripping and tearing..
to find out what was really at the crux of the
matters..

As If, Mixed Media Collage,  5 x 7 Caterina Giglio

I used mono prints and painted papers..
old book pages and antique ephemera..

Detail from A Bridge Too Far, Mixed Media Collage, Caterina Giglio

it took me a year and a half to work on this collection
from my
Ripped and Torn Series..

A Bridge Too Far, Mixed Media Collage, 12 x 12, Caterina Giglio

and just now...
I feel as though I might have a bit of
understanding about the process..

Caterina Giglio, Two Sides Of The Same Story, 12 x 12 Mixed Media Collage

But there is still so much to learn..
I feel quite humbled by the experience

EXCAVATIONS

Excavations is an attempt to rip through the layers and sort out the truths...
The center always reveals what has been hiding there all along..
As I rip, tear and study, the dimension
of the relationship comes clearly into focus..
and
I am always reminded that harmony
and congruence is born from
chaos.

Detail from Moonlight, Mixed Media Collage, Caterina Giglio

and I have lots of new ideas about paper manipulation...

Caterina Giglio, The Story Teller, Mixed Media Collage, 8 x 8

But when I land back to the studio..
methinks I am headed back to some painting..

Caterina Giglio, Compensation, Mixed Media Collage, 8 x 8

Caterina Giglio, Light Through The Forest, Mixed Media Collage, 8 x 8

This collection took far longer than even portraits..

Detail from The Distance To Harmony, Caterina Giglio, Mixed Media Collage

There was so much to understand..
not just about the application..
the paper and the products..

Caterina Giglio, The Distance To Harmony, Mixed Media Collage, 11x 14

but my emotional process as I worked on each piece
of art..

Caterina Giglio, The Origin Of Hope,  Mixed Media Collage, 11 x 14

Detail from Origin Of Hope, Caterina Giglio

coming to terms in my own heart..
and moving forward in peace..

The Gallerie site lists the prices and details..
as well as a detail of each piece..
and as always,
I am so very thankful for each one of you..

Mixed Media-Ripped and Torn Series

Well gentle readers,
I am working diligently in the studio...
daily to tie up loose ends..

Holiday Cards with Vintage stamps.. Caterina Giglio

meet deadlines and get a handle on my work..

Caterina Giglio, Two Sides of the Same Story, Mixed Media on cradled board

before we leave for our
European tour..

That means that I need to have my
holiday cards made and ready to post..

so I have been working on those..

Caterina Giglio, Mixed Media on cradled board, Settling Old Debts,

Caterina Giglio, Mixed Media, detail, Settling Old Debts.

and working on my
Ripped and Torn Series

Which will debut this May..

in Colorado
at 142 Bis Gallerie..

I have learned so much about mixed media..
and paper with this new collection..

Magnolia seed pod and fall leaves..

and while I have signed all the new pieces,
they still need to be sealed..

and I will work on that when I return..

This collection was birthed in relationship
upheaval..
Ripping papers to shreds and the ties that bind...
I found release in rearranging and story telling in
different ways..
manipulating the paper to move to my narrative..

Caterina Giglio, The Days are Numbered, Mixed Media on Paper.

Thanks for all your concern about hurricane Michael,
we are fine and it seems to be headed west of us..

so I will be back in the studio this week and
preparing for a new video on
Composition for Mixed Media..

Hope to see you then,

C4N!
