This is a piece of art concerning 

grief..

it is collage mounted on mixed media paper..

I have used several antique papers  and book pieces

to create an atmosphere of 

sorrow being overcome

by the vines of life..

I often have at least one piece in a collection that speaks to

grief and the way to overcome the sorrow..

my garden has always been a therapy

for me to use to salve my broken heart..

the vines entwine and encircle and soulfully

 allow healing to take place...

is one of the pieces that I have created on Mixed Media paper..

it features

an antique wax seal and ribbons...

and the papers are antique..

this piece also features 

antique book parts..

and pieces...

 

I have a love of using realistic images and mixing them in an 

abstract way that tells a tiny story..

The pinks all have their own..

spray of wild flowers 

then you will understand the power of this piece.. all the 

other color seems to support this 

on shocking display...

Wild violets grow all over the East coast..

and they are charming

they represent a pledge of Faithfulness..

I used antique papers, ephemera and dyed paper to 

create this work..

Ciao gentle readers,

A flower represents different things 

to all of us, each one has a different meaning..

they are symbolically 

important to us.. 

and to life...

Every summer, I toil in the gardens during

the morning hours 

and I often

I think about the ephemerality of the garden..

and the way it matches the ephemera of our lives..

the bits and pieces of papers and cloth

and how they compliment each other..

Does the Garden Remember the Gardener?

I believe it does..
