Antique Book with Seth Apter Fabrics!

Well.. I started  another book..

Since I finished the

Morris book..

It was an old Spelling Bee book and I have always

lusted over it for a project..

The cover of my new book

Seth’s Fabrics are so yummy.. the colors coordinate well together and they have that 

satisfying tearing sound when they rip!

Inside hinge

I have cut the book cover apart and have hinged it together with plain black cotton 

cloth.. my intention is to stitch a signature into two of those hinges….

Summer Garden

Ciao dear readers..

It’s quite HOT here.. 

especially for mid June…

We haven’t had the run off we need each year,

 

We give water to many other states and I am concerned there will be a

shortage and obviously with high heat, we will all have fire danger

Stressed Echinacea 

I have pored the water on my garden..and will be getting some shots to paint, soon

 I’ve noticed my plants are stressed and often changing colors… 

We can stop the global warming.. we caused it.. we can change it

Until then I will document the flowers in case they can no longer grow…..

That would be a sad day…

Tiny Morris Book

I have been working on this tiny book.. and it’s starting to pull

together… 

I had a stash of tiny fabric swatches that a friend had given me..

And decided that this tiny scrap of Morris fabric would be perfect for a 

tiny book

I have a lot more work to do.. but thought you might want to see it.

Peony Season

 

Perhaps you remember 

Dear readers, that the woman who owned this hose previously tried to kill 

Her peonies.. 

I know.. crazy right??

The first year.. they came up, but didn’t

but didn’t bloom…

The second year I had a few lovely blooms..

but now I have armfuls of blooms and friends and neighbors get cheerful and bodacious 

Bouquets..

 So they’ve made a dramatic comeback

and I couldn’t be more delighted..

I am planning on painting them of course..

As soon as my daisy painting is finished.

 In the studio I am working on my paintings

and my grungy book…

A new mixed media piece and drawing ✍🏻 

Of course..

Ooh and I started a new tiny book..

I have good news to share …

my work,

A Bridge Too Far

From my Ripped and Torn series

Has been chosen to grace the cover of a book

Printed by a French company that

Specializes in Psychology books

I am so honored that A Bridge Too Far was chosen for this as it is a perfect match for my work..

My Ripped and Torn series is a

deeply layered emotional series…

The company tried  to mail me three copies but ran into

Trump’s tariffs and it was too expensive 

As well as a ridiculous policy .. 

so a colleague was

going to New York and mailed them to me from there

I am most appreciative!

And thankful

To Sophie Leo and Véronique Sidoit for choosing my 

Work.

We are home from our trip

and back at work..

New Books Coming!!

 

Ciao gentle readers..

I have had several requests for books..

both tiny and regular sized books…

So I have started making three new books

One is not ready for viewing yet!!

The  tiny book, called Leaflet, is 3 x 3

and the one above is 5 x 6

I’ve opened the books to give you an idea 

Of the pages.. the tiny book is all cloth and the

other book is paper and cloth

I’ve tea dyed the pages and I don’t have a theme for the larger book.. but it will tell me what it is shortly..

I will place them in my Textile gallerie as soon as they are 

finished.

So we are off on a quick adventure..

and I will try to get back here before we leave
