Ciao my dears..

The photo below was taken in my studio and did not give
justice to the art..

I think the dimensions are 36 x 48

We are traveling tomorrow to take them on site
and I will have some photos when we return

of the installation...

We are also seeing family and friends

and staying in New Mexico at Los Poblanos..

which is a wonderful Lavender Farm

with a Farm Shop and

very fine restaurant

Our Granddaughter is graduating High School

and it will be a lovely trip..

I will be posting

on social

WIP.. Persephone..

Ciao dear ones..
I am still working on my new

Persephone
painting..

I work on her everyday..

and I have her tattoos painted ..

so many details...

I changed several details..
I have placed her hair over her right shoulder and

and still have to darken it..

I am unsure about creating more tattoos ..

I think she needs some colorful Tatts below the quote..
on her neck and above the leaf design,

but I am sure she will let me know..

I like her no nonsense gaze and steely confidence..

we all need that
don't we?

I wanted to let you know
what is going on.. in the studio..
and I appreciate you for

stopping by the
Lily Cottage..

Abstract Painting

Or should I say...
Paintings?

I am working on a commission
for a client that I know very well..

because I
NEVER
take commissions..

But I have an idea of what they want and I am very pleased to help..

These are 2 acrylic canvas.. 35 x 46
 and

they will grace a very large
dining room wall..
and I love to work large..

the palette is the same one that I use on all of my

of my abstracts..
old world renaissance colors..

in my

the series is a study in the movement of light and the eternality of life, just as the dawn breaks through each day, our light moves on...

I will deliver them in May so I have a lot of time, but I wanted to get a good
start on them..

and thought you would like to see
what I am working on in the studio..

I so often forget to post..
so thank you for bearing with me

Abstract Art

I have always been an artist..

my family gave me that title as a toddler..

I remember when my 1st grade teacher asked us to draw a picture of

our family

my people looked different from the regular
stick people..

my father had a suit and my mother wore a

faux Chanel suit complete with pearls!

I loved drawing, painting and sewing..

and trying new things

which was discouraged

because I was told I should be a painter

when I found
Mixed Media
I knew I had found a home..

I was finally able to do all the things I loved under one

Large umbrella...

Why are artists pigeon holed?
for something as expansive as creative talent..
it is absurd...
to try to corral talent..

I did a lot of abstract paintings in school..

all which are lost to me now and perhaps were never signed..

but my point of all this is artists should enjoy the freedom to create anything they desire..

without being told to reign in their muse...

so this new painting

is titled...

Into The Morning..

it evokes new beginnings and possibilities...

and it is in my

Thanks for listening!!
