Celebrating Autumn

Ciao gentle readers..

many years ago Don bought me a week long class in

Floral Design..

It was a lot of work.. one whole morning was spent stripping thorns from

Roses..

we peeled old petals off roses and learned how to design

every kind of arrangement that you can think of
from Bridal bouquets to funeral wreaths..

One thing I learned was the art of Lei making..

It isn't difficult to do but it does take some patience..
I am always in love with the the

Marigold

strands that they have in
New Mexico..

and so since I had copious amounts of
Marigold
flowers
this year.. I decided to make a long strand
for my

Sacred Hearts

goddess in my studio...

The scent was amazing and even now as it is drying..

I do love it..

If you want to make one..

you need: an embroidery needle, waxed dental floss, two buttons and a lot of blooms..

you can use any kind of blooms you have in plenty...

I leave a large amount of dental floss.. about as long as you think you want your strand to be

to hang loose.. and then I thread my needle and tie two knots..

this holds it in place as you thread the flowers.

the flowers should have the stem cut off and you will be able to easily

insert your needle into the flower head.

to finish off, thread the buttons and tie them off..

Its a simple flower crown for children but as a devotional gift, I find it

outstandingly beautiful...

Love is all there is!
