Pandemic Works

I have always found that
art heals..

and from the vast variety of works
now being created

Pandemic Works

by many of my friends on social media..
I see that I am not alone
in my isolation..

we are all going through the very same thing
together..

Caterina Giglio, 8 x 10 mixed media on cradled board, titled, Alone, Together.

We are united in mind and heart
and though we cannot
console through
hugs
kiss
touch
or gathering

we can share visually how we all feel..

Pandemic Works

I don't consider this group
from my Ripped and Torn series finished..
I think my fingers and my heart have much more to say..

and though they are dark..
I see hope rising..
and the promise
of
new beginnings
which are always a bit scary..
but necessary for change to occur..

like the scab on the wound that is hardening
and snags, it is important to let it heal and fall off on it's own
accord.

So...
I am working with newsprint zines,
that we find when we travel..
It seemed the perfect thing to use
since we cannot travel..

they do such marvelous things...
when ripped and torn,
they respond well to adhesives and create just the
perfect ragged texture
to illustrate my feelings...

Yes, there is hope
yes, I hear the birds singing...

and my garden gives me pleasure
and pulls me back to
the reality
of
enchantment...
and the peacefulness of this
NOW
moment.
