well... gentle readers,
on friday I walked to the post
box
and in the box, I found not one
comp issue of Sew Somerset,
but 2!
I knew that I would soon be receiving my issue...but
I couldn't figure out the double mystery, because I knew that
they were publishing my article
Sacred Hearts
and there was no mention
of the shrine I sent along
Wish You Were Here
By Hand
fabric stitched heart and tin
the article above...
and below the second heart tin that I submitted...
if you remember, I began to stitch hearts right after my brother
shot himself in the heart. it was my way of healing such
a violent tragedy in my own heart
as I flipped thru the magazine
the answer to
my question was revealed, they had published the
shrine in the gallery!
wonderful!!
a nice surprise...
because this shrine was so very heartfelt...
a feeling of bittersweet abandonment...
so I was quite pleased and the new Editor, Beth Livesay did a great job
and then...
I was thrilled to learn that my blogging friend
Pilar Pollock was in the same
issue with her article
Nuestros Milagros
which I think is brilliant below..
she has reinterpreted the milagro in cloth
and
I think her work is just stunning
and then... my friend, Carole Brungar had a piece published in
the gallery section as well and I had to show you her piece
below, so romantic and beautiful
to go to her blog go here.
and all of that and more
whew!!
such a lot going on!!
I trust you are having a lovely Memorial Day...
for me it has been a weekend in the garden and the studio...
tomorrow at Bell'Antico
we are having Tea in the studio, so do stop
by...
ciao!
