2010 journal

ciao...
I hope you had a wonderful holiday...
mine was very quiet and peaceful
with lots of moments for meditation
and introspection,
I lit my solstice candle
and wrote dreams and goals
on tiny paper strips
to be planted in the spring
in my new garden,
wherever I am!

It is hard to believe that
my 2010 journal is finished
these are my December pages....

have you ever had a month that began "in the pink"
and ended really grey?
that is where December went...

as you see, I am still using trees to illustrate feelings...
this month I journaled directly on the page, covered it with collage,
and when the feelings changed, I gessoed over the collage and drew the trees
onto the papered page...

to see the beginning of this journal and December 2009 pages, go here...

my ingredients this month are gesso, pencil acrylic paint, acrylic glaze, micaceous oxide, sharpie fine point,
collage, handmade paper, thread

I recently found two vintage ledger books in pristine condition
so I will be using one of them for my 2011 journal,
stay tuned you will get to see it soon!

I affirm that 2011 will be a banner year not only for artists, but for Art in general...
let's all drink a toast to that eh?

C4N!

Cat,
Your pink and grey pages are lovely. I am drawn to anything with trees, so I find your art work to be special.
How wonderful to have another completed journal that you can look back at and contemplate your moods and feelings.
I'm sure your new journal will be beautiful, as well.
I happily toast to 2011 being a year filled with ART!! My goal for 2011 !!
Happy New Year, Cat.

beautiful pages Cat, what a loveky way to finish your journal! I love your tree theme, I went through more than a year painting them on long thin pieces of paper, I know I was some kind of study project for the teacher! All the best for the New Year! Mx

I will drink a toast to that- lovely trees in the wind here, much for you to draw like those lovely trees on your pages. Gray here but with a light blue
feel, clean and fresh! 1978, senior in college in the Fenway during that storm. 12 days and no classes - I remember it well. No Coat! Aren't we silly when we are young, so invincible. Bet you bought one after that storm. xox Corrine

Hi Cat, so glad to hear that you had peaceful holiday. I've had two days in pajamas and loving the down time. I would love to keep any kinda journal but I always seem to start one and then abandon it at some point. I have so many journals started, but none completed. I just love all the art journaling that I see around. Lovely! Best wishes to you for the remainder of 2010. Blessings of peace, joy and love in the New Year. Tammy

I raise a glass to your New Year affirmation...it has a beautiful power to it that all of us as artists can embrace...
your journal page is gorgeous and if this is what pink into gray brings then so be it...there is a soothing quality to this tree and her surrounds that warms my soul.

Your journal pages are so soft and beautiful.
The trees are so full of feeling. You just have a way of doing this with ease (so it seems).
Laura's comment is so perfectly expressed - I couldn't have said it better.
