I wondered that the other day..
gentle reader,
as I was flipping through
a stack of
old photos..
aged and ripped..
faded and greyed..
once folded in half
to tuck close to the heart...
of course we all know the definition of art...
art, noun
1. a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities, usually involving imagination or technical skill..
"patina is the value that age puts on an object"
John Yemma
but is that really true for you?
I wondered if it was true for me...
I love Van Gogh's thoughts below..
because that is true for me...
a love of nature affords me a feast of beauty everywhere I look...
but is that art?
"if you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere."
Vincent Van Gogh
I pondered it as I weeded and raked the garden...
"The foundations of the world are to be found not in cognitive experience of conscious thought, but in the aesthetic experience of everyday life."
Alfred North Whitehall
maybe art is less a creation
and more a way of
SEEING..
I like Edgar Degas's
quote...
"art is not what you see, but what you make others see."
what do you think dear reader?
what do you see?
