sneak preview-ascension

my new art book
is
titled
Ascension...

I started out with an old
library book
that was well past the due date..

gutted it completely...
unfortunately even the spine was unsalvageable..
so had to use book tape to hold the cardboards
together...

a detail of the front cover of my book... Ascension..

It is off to Stampington...
so hopefully you will see it in June...
in Sew Somerset...

stitched feather detail in the centerfold...

this is a present for my SIL...
as you remember her husband died
last year...

hand drawn and stitched feather...

I hope she likes it...
a little tribute
filled with love...

I am just in love with onion skins and the dye they create... I expect to dye more papers to use in collage..

I hope you are all staying warm in the
deep freeze of the arctic vortex...
I hear it is after Europe
too...

and I will be out to visit you
all soon..

It's always so much more special when the gift takes on a personal nature. And that feather is gorgeous.

What blew me away were the onion skin dyed PAPERS. You know I've followed your lead with onion skin dyed fabric, but never considered paper before. It seems I always learn something meaningful each time I visit you. Thank you for being YOU.

Oh that new Ascension book looks amazing and look forward to seeing it all in June!
Love all the textures used together here Cat with the hand stitching.

Lovely thoughtful gift for your SIL and yummy dyed onion skin paper. I've only used them with hand spun yarn with stunning results - I used it to create a primitive woven jacket with other natural dyes a long time ago!

Your new book looks gorgeous and so beautiful in those warm tones from dying with the onion skin dear Cat, and the featheres are both amazing ..love the stitched one in the fold, with a little tulle. What a wonderful gift for your SIL- a heartfelt gift for her to fill with thoughts and feelings.
Hugs and a happy weekend to you.
