garden light

I took these photos a week ago and things have
grown profusely since then because we have had so much rain...
so I will be back out there to snap a
few during magic hour again for you...

"I am going to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen." A. Lamott

gardening for me is a wonderful form of
integrative exercise...
I create both beauty and food...
AND get my exercise... what could be better?

"Help us to be ever faithful gardeners of the spirit who know that without darkness nothing comes to birth and without light, nothing flowers." Mary Sarton

my chocolate mint is beginning to sprout back up in the pot above.. it is always good to contain mint..

and blueberries are coming on... finally ....
we had such chilly mornings and nights that the plants thought it was fall and the leaves began to turn red as they do in the Autumn... fortunately, they did berry!

"Flowers are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty out values all the utilities in the world. Ralph Waldo Emerson

bees are back... I adore bees...

and above is a photo of my impatiens BEFORE the deer ate them...

we had so much rain that the rocks and trees got all mossy...
and this heart rock was unintentional... I did not realize that it was there until I loaded the photos on my computer.. a nice synchronicity...

"Let us open our leaves like a flower and be passive and receptive." John Keats

my tomatoes are doubled in size and my basil is doing well, considering that we have had so much rain and they don't appreciate wet roots...

"The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmonious tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs toward him." Auguste Rodin

my lilies are just now popping out which is wonderful, because the peonies never bloomed..
which made me pout seriously...

"When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one and a lily with the other" Anon

life is just so beautiful...
it is a shame not to celebrate it...
don't you think?
