June Journal Pages

It could have been July...
all month,
I have been pondering the nature

of

Freedom...

examining my feelings on the nature of feeling free...

looking through a microscope
at
my beliefs ...

and finally
rewriting some of my long held
beliefs about
citizenship
health
and

love..

there is a lot going on around us
these days,
and we each of us
has to learn to
change
and grow..

or not....

ingredients: Antique ephemera, old book pages, acrylic paint, colored pencil, gel medium, wrapping paper, pen, pencil, mixed media paper.

what are you changing?

or not?

C4N..

What a profound and personal post. Thank you for sharing this. What I believe even more is that art can make a difference and can help us thought these hard times. The hate in this country and much of the rest of the world is so oppressive that it is hard to bare. But those of us that express our feelings and share them not only helps our selves but it helps others as well. Hanging on to the thought that love will win. Love to you dear Caterina.

Oh Terry, I said the same thing this morning, Love will find a Way. I don't know how, but I guess it really isn't my job anyway. Thank you so much and thanks for stopping by. Much love back to you, dear heart!

I love this piece!!! I always love wings! I'm trying to remember that God hasn't changed and that I have eternal life and that's the same no matter who is president or what terrorists do. I have a promise.

Linda Jo! I love that and I agree! I too believe in the eternality of life! Xo

Changing, growing, going forward with fresh eyes is always good and especially when making art...this is lovely! A thoughtful post here in beautiful summer...when there is a choice...choose love.

Beautiful post. Acceptance is what I am trying for, trying to not listen to the hateful voices and endless shares of bad things on social media. Trying to stay focused on the love and acceptance, that's the best I can do right now. xox

The Buddha said it is our thoughts that make our world. Having just come through a very challenging time in my life, I have seen how true this is. Wings have always held a great deal of meaning for me,and your lovely pages really speak to my heart. Feeling free is a difficult proposition in these crazy times, but as you said, it's important to examine our beliefs and change them if necessary. It's called growth, and it's something we all desperately need; that, and an open mind. Thank you for sharing this.

What a thoughtful and truth giving post Cat. I've missed coming on over to your blog to see what's happening in your world. I think it's because of the things you are talking about here! Also, my 8 year old son has taken ownership of the computer (must remind him it's not his! Lol).

I agree, Mary Ann, thanks for the reminder!

Sharmon, I so agree and yes, being mindful of my thoughts has been something I am working on, change is constant and I am now realizing that when I am uncomfortable, it is simply change. I am changing so much about myself, that sometimes, I don't really recognize myself, but it is all good! xo
