March Journal Pages

I did a lot of writing this month..
though you would never know...

since I covered it all...

with paint
and paper...
and more paint
and chalk pens...

and thickly layered the pages..

writing about relationships...
labels
and their meaning in my life
concerning la famiglia..

March Journal pages, Caterina Giglio

some relationships are like eggs shells...
brittle, fragile...
or thin as torn paper...

and some seem to be ...

unbreakable...
we all need those...

March Journal pages, Caterina Giglio

ingredients: gesso, acrylic paint, paper ephemera, transparency, chalk pens, pencil, pen, walnut ink

I have one more blog post to share with you
and then I will be taking a break...

we are headed to Europe....

and so I am going to be busy making my travel journal..
stitching signatures and deciding on size and materials..

I promise to shoot it in process for you..
and to take lots of photos
on our trip....

Beautiful pages...I love the subtlety and the intensity you have created at the same time. Also the quote re/ relationships; may I borrow it please ?

Aren't you the lucky gal. Seems you are always taking trips lately.

Your March spread is stunning. It is so different than the ones I'm used to seeing from you. I've never heard of chalk pens, so that is one I'll have to check out.

Have fun in Europe, and enjoy your time away.

Dear Cat,
Oh you will love it in Europe, and that special place you are going to visit, there.
I wish I had been there myself,-but no--only Paris .
Your March spread is gorgeous, love the bad weather feeling, the "storm" in relationships, which can make them eighter last for ever, or breake !! So beautifully shown.
Have a most wonderful tour, and come back safe, dear.
Hugs,Dorthe

Gayle, I don't know what quote you mean... my writing about relationships? Thanks about the kind remarks... March felt exactly like that... intensely subtle! x

E, retirement has it's advantages, doesn't it? We have waited a long time to be able to travel, and plan a big trip once a year, with small ones in between. Just enough to keep us busy...
The spread is different, I am not a fan of figurative work in my pages, but the figures seemed to mirror so many people and exactly what I was trying to convey... I just surrendered ti!! x

Dorthe, we would love to visit Sweden and Denmark eventually, but this first trip is just to get the feet wet, so to speak.. We are looking forward to it ...
You understand my pages perfectly, yes quite stormy and passionate, and yet there are some relationships that are so stable and loving... it is universal, isn't it?

Fabulous March journal pages. I love all the tonal colours you have used over and under torn and painted pages.
Yes we have all sorts of family traits and characters which vary so much.
At last my internet is back after a frustrating week!
Wishing you a wonderful trip to Europe and all the best with your gallery sales too Cat.
Hugs,
Suzy
