strolling Paris

Les Jardin Des Amants
the lover's garden show

opened yesterday in Fort Collins...

and since I cannot be there
I thought I would at least share what I would say to my friends and collectors
if I were there...

I decided to use this piece
to illustrate what this show represents to me
Paris En Flanant or
Strolling Paris

as you know, this collection began with an idea of
a lover's garden, a beautiful place where lovers meet..

this piece is an abstract of two lovers
walking thru Paris..

detail from Strolling Paris, Italian collage

the feeling, the flowers... the beauty..

walking and talking arm in arm..
there is a blur..
two people caught up in each others energy
but still aware vaguely of the world around them..

the printed words represent the snippets of conversations...
cut short
that you hear in passing...
the words painted out are whispers..

the squared shapes are the buildings as you walk past..

Strolling Paris is 8 x 8 cradled 1/2 inch board,  Italian collage, mixed media painting

to me it is...

the essence of
old buildings, crumbling splendor...

and relationships, old, new...
layered and diverse..
growing and changing

moving in
 love..

many thanks to Meg DeWeese
for another
awesome show..
and to all of my gentle readers
for your support as well...
