journal's end

well, gentle readers, this is a long post...
I promised you this a couple of months ago...
my art journal is finished...
if you have been following the sweet life
for a while, you know that art journaling is
an important part of my life...

a necessary ingredient...
a cathartic process...
a way to deal with issues...
and
an opportunity to try out new techniques
products and make rough drafts for
art pieces...
so here you have
my
2011-2012
art journal

if you remember ... the cover looked very different from this
and to see the original cover

the old cover did not hold up to the wear and tear of
two years and so I fashioned this from an old book cover
and an antique metal scrap..
the fern piece was stitched and glued to the cover...
since the book cover was in poor shape,
I stitched the edges and covered it liberally with
gel medium...
