rose botanicals

I just received my comp issue of
and I have to say,
it is a great issue...

when
I sent the eco-dyed fabric botanicals
in to the magazine with my article, I thought it would
be perfect for summer...
since so many people have gardens and
dyes are as easy as cutting a few herbs or pulling
a few beets...

and I am in great company again...

the other Cat ...
Kerr... that is..
my sweet friend
from
has an article...
on inspirational pendants...

and
dear,
Trudi Sissons
has an awesome article too
Needle Roll
from

I do hope you will check
this issue out...
When the work comes back,
I will share close ups with you
until then,
I am off to the
 studio

Oh wow. Congratulations on yet another publication. I'm a big fan of dyeing everything (fabric) I make, so I will look for this article. It's always fun to dye fabric from materials we find in the kitchen. So, the garden should be a close second!

Congratulations! Your work looks beautiful! Somerset is such a high quality magazine - unfortunately I have to go into Seattle to find it - but I guess there are worse places to have to go :)

Cheers! and Happy Tuesday!

Dear Cat
Your creations here are right up my ally as they say! I really love these botanicals and how you have created these collages. There is nothing quite like the eco dyes! I too have had some wonderful results!
Congratulations on being published with them and you so deserve any accolades coming your way!
Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing!
Also thanks for your very kind comments lately on my blog.
Have a wonderful day,
Suzy

Hi Cat...
have so enjoyed visiting this rainy Sunday morning to peruse all the lovely posts you've written of late that i had sadly missed till now! Lunch with your sister looked just lovely!
Bravo for the magazine mention and for all the recent work with marks and stitches. Loved what I was seeing.... esp the work with black ink and with stitching.
I have not been able to leave the needle and thread along since the Dorothy Caldwell workshop...its allowing me some nights of slow restful activity in front of TV watching films and things... and all the while stitching pieces of linen with pod forms that will end up on my canvases.
Lots of love,
S xo

I love your fabric botanicals artwork in Sew Somerset. The soft muted colors are so appealing, and I am going to try your dying techniques this summer.
