in the garden with karma and dharma

I hope you all
had a great weekend...
mine was anything but typical
it rained for the 4th..

and I do not mean the normal
monsoon type storm that blows in
on the late afternoon sun when you are
already a bit weary of the heat...
and welcome the cool moist air
and a brief thunderstorm...

no...
this was a torrential soaker
with weird tornadic clouds
dropping a lot of rain
in intervals
and brought a flood warning to our little town...

not that I complain about rain
mind you...
but it was certainly different!!
not a BBQ-y sit in the sun and eat watermelon kinda day for sure
the fireworks were rather subdued, being watched from the upstairs bedroom
instead of the back yard on a blanket!

when the sun came out on monday
the dogs and I went out to pick raspberries...
well dharma and I went down to the patch
karma decided the grass was cooler in the upper garden!

studio dog loves to pick
raspberries and he is responsible for the ones close to the ground
although his berries never seem to end up in
my bowl...

I think everything grew about 4 inches overnight...

which is great for all the produce
but the weeds seem to keep up with the pace as well!

I harvested my first bunches of organic lavendar
this weekend and hung it to dry
I usually sell it and keep some for myself

today is wet and rainy again
and that too is unusual
so strange to have a rainy day in the summer...

my grey beard
little karma waiting patiently for us...

the mosses are doing really well with all the moisture

well it will be a great studio day with no distractions..
except to
come visit
YOU!!
